HEAT WAVE AND SNOW. A GALE TO VISIT NEW ZEALANDUnited Press Association—By Eleotrie Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, October 28. A sudden heat wave, during which the thermometer touched 95 deg. in the shade in the city, was followed to-day by a tierce, ' cold westerly gale. The wind at its height blew at the rate of 71 miles per hour. The city was enshrouded in clouds of dust. The gale swept part of the colony, being I accompanied in many places by heavy rain, hail, and snow. Considerable damage was j done to crops and property. Mr Wragge, in hj» forecast, states that I this was only the edge of a very dangerous Antarctic disturbance, which he named "Ky<:hem." Hβ urgently warns chipping < that a gale and mountainous seas will be ■ met with. He forecasts that the weather in New Zealand will be temporarily fine, and thereafter will come "Sychtem" in the i south, in all its fury.
