CYCLING.
. «*- A meeting of the Committee of the Christchurch Cycling Club was held in the Clubhouse last evening, Mr J. R. Bums in ths chair. It was decided to start the club's Road Race to Lesston and back at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday next, from the Hospital corner. Mr E. James was elected starter; Messrs W. E. Thompson, H. Price, and T. Boyd, judges; Mr E. Nor den, referee. A letter was received from the Dunlop Tyre Company, inviting the club to a moonlight run to fcJumner on November 14th. The chief reason for such a gathering is to show the voting powers of the wheelmen of Christchurch. The programme for the New Zealand Wheel Race Meeting was considered, and it was decided thai the prize for the Wheel Race Handicap be £75—first £50, second £20, third £5; the winner of each heat not placed in the final to receive Jbij out of the first prize. It was also decided to add a number* of novel events to the programme, and that the meeting be a two days' gathering, on Boxing Day and the Saturday following, at Lancaster* Park. Three members were elected.
