(PBESS ASSOCIATION - TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, October 22. The Premier, replying to a deputation from the Council of'the Victoria College, undertook that a Bill would be introduced to give effect to the land transfer in connection with the acquisition of the Salamanca road property as a site for the College; also to put on. the Supplementary ! Estimates a vote for the buildings. He held out the prospect of legislation to localise scholarships, but refused, however, to relieve the Council of the financial bur* den of scholarships, so long as it has accumulated funds .to its credit.
