I A meeting of the General Committee of the , Floral Fete was held yesterday. There was - ■ a large attendance of ladies and gentlemen, 1 and the . Mayor of Christchurph presided , . 1 The draft programme as recommended by - the Programme Committee was brought Tip ! and the classes discussed seriatim. Ifc waa resolved that ifc be a recommendation to tbe ._> 1 Programme Committee that the decorations iin all classes ehouid bs mainly floral, and £ that .a condition- be framed to that effect. { J 'At the suggestion of the Chairman, it was ==■• ; resolved that, a champion prize should be ; established for the b?st floral decoration on ' the ground. The recommendation of judges ' I and the system of judging was referred, to ' ! the Programme -Committee to bring tip a re- » port at the next meeting. The Ground Com* ' mitlee was elected as' under: —Messrs Dob- . son, Russell, .Bergh, Asquith, Kesteven, E. J Smith, Hancock, Sorensen, and W. Bain, 1 with power to add. to their number.
