DUTY ON TIMBER.
(vrzss association- t_i_h>__ams.) DANNEVIBKE, October 21. A meeting of sawmitlers decided to advise the Premier to place an export duty on baulk timber, which the Commonwealth proposes to admit free, otherwise the white pine aidustry will be injured -i. _,- October 21. The Cabinet has not yet considered the tariff, but a conference of sawmillers in rep.y to the Premier's telegram is to be held on Thursday, and it is expected to be representative of ail parts of the coiony.
