I The Katapoi Borough Council meeting, 1 held on Tuesday night, was attended by Mr Daly {Mayor). Crs. Eagle, Dayman, Midgley, Brigs, Keetley, Pearce, and 1 Pamham. " The overdraft 'was reported to be £358 4s sd. Accounts amounting to £4116e,9d, were passed.' It was decided to send a delegate to the Syden- ] ham Council on tile .unimproved valuation question. The Mayor, referring to the halfyearly balance-sheet, which showed an in- ; com© of i>69l 8s 2d r and expenditure of £741, warned the Council that the expenditure must be kept within due limits if it was intended to reduce the overdraft. Crs. Hayman and' Pearoe spoke strongly against cutting down expenditure so far as the necessary works were concerned. It wae resolved to obtain a report on fire sumps. Cγ. Hayman gave notice of the by-law against expectorating on footpaths, "it was decided to tar the decking of the traffic and eospexudon bridge*. The Council sat as a Domain Board, and adjourned.
