Victoria, the Victorians in their first in- • nings scored 279 (McLeod 23, Layer 56, 1 Stuckey (not out' 130). The New South Wales team, in their ' second innings, have seven wickets down for 150 (Gregory 49, Trumper (not out) 67). A meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association was held yesterday evening, ct the Clarendon Hotel, to deal with matters relating to the unfinished cup match, United ▼ Midland. Letters were reed from, the captains of both teams in reply to the Association's resolution calling noon the clubs to show Tcoson why the game should not be declared drawn, and, after a lengthy ■ discussion, the following resolution was agreed '< to:—"Tho committee regrets to find that a ; breach of the Association's rules he* been • con-m.itted. but as- it is of onin-'en tbnt. t'.e breach was unintentional, it orders that the ; clubs must apply in the usual way for ptr- -. mission to continue play ia tho match in _UMt-on." ■ ' ~
