DUNEDIN. January 11. Tbo second wool sale of the season was held to-day, when there was a largo att.nd-a-nce of Home, colonial, and' local buyers. Competition was fairly brisk, But most of the wool was purchased fey representatives of local mills. For mermo and fine tirst cross and half-bred wools there. wasi very keen competition, and although they did not show any material advance in values, they fully maintained pricfes-realised at the opening sales. Though coarse wools did not meet so much competition, nevertheless prices were quite on a par. and, in some cases, made a slight increase on last sale. Pieces and locks were also in strong demand. Prices ruled as follovrs:—-Super m?rino. 8d to 9£d: medium, 7d to 7_*dinferior, 6jd to 6f d; super halfbred, 7id to B|d; medium, 6d to 7d; inferior, 5d to s|d ; bright crossbred. s|d to 7d ; other, 4|d to-s_.d* pieces. 4d to 6d; bellies, 2|d to 4Jd; locks, to 2|d.
