The Mnnawiitu Railway Company claim (according to a Press Association telegram from Wellington) that upon the tonns i Ifcred, the Government v.nll be gettiii- the line at eomo £200,000 less tlihu w-is bpent on it. In view of the competition to which it is subjected by the Government cutting the rates, and the less expume ,\t whicU it can be worked in conjunction with Government lines, it is also contended that, tlw railway is worth a great <Wl m«ie to the Government than to the Company.
