LONDON, September 16. Mr Steyn has retreated with ten guns to Hecfcorspirurt.
COLONIAL TROOPS TO GO TO
ENGLAND.
A representative number of colonial officers and men will be the nation's guests when they return from South Africa with the earliest batch of the araiy. The Queen has intimated that she hopes to inspect them and present tliem with colours commemorative of the distinguished part they ha/ye- borne in tlie campaign.
RETURNED TROOPERS

AUCKLAND, Septemter 16. The invalided troopers who returned by the Whakatane attended a military service at St. Mary's, the Anglican Cathedral, today, accompanied by six hundred volunteers, representing all the corps of the Auckland Garrison. Xhe Rev. Geo. MacMurray preached an Appropriate sermon, and the Battle Hymn of the Auckland Infantry Battalion ho. 1 was sung.
