COMPENSATION TO LOYALISTS
(Received September 15th, 11.45 a.m.) CAPETOWN, September 14. Sir J. Gordon Sprigg, Premier of Cape Colony, proposes that the Government shall pay 50 per cent, directly the Commissioners have assessed the amount of compensation which should be paid by loyalists. He hopes Great Britain and the Chartered Company will contribute towards the compensation fund.
