HOCKEY.
An exciting game was played yesterday bet-ween the K_a Ora and Addington School and resulted in a win for the former by 1 goal to nil. In the first spell Addington were on tha _tt_el;, and were continually in the circle, but the splendid defence of Kia Ora prevented them scoring. In the second spell Kia Ora attacked, and it waa not untol close on time that their captain managed to break through the defence and shoot a splendid goal. Mr Gunn was referee. The Addington team were driven to the park by Mr Beecroft. The Kia Ora ladies provided excellent afternoon tea.
