Satordav, APMii 21. (Before S. H. Willis and W. Radeliffe, Esqs., J.P.'s.) SsrcGGUNG. — C. Autman pleaded guilty to a charge of being concerned in the unshipping of six white and four coloured shirts on which the duty had not been paid. Mr Patten, who represented the Customs authorities, did not pre?s for the full penalty, and the Bench inflicted a fine of £25, which wae paid. Larckny. — Alexander Jackson was charged with stealing a- waterproof coat and other articles of clothing, valued at about £3, the property of Gbaries Newton. After hearing the evidence of the prosecutor, John Crocker, Mrs Evans and Constable Pratt, the Bench sentenced the accused to one month's imprisonment. Another charge against the same accused was, on the application of the police, remanded for a week. Patrick Maguire, for stealing two loavee of bread, Wae sentenced to seven days' imprisonment. Dbcnkeuness. —A first offender was remanded for seven days for medical treatment.
