(Before R. Beetham, Esq., S.SL) DBVNH.BNE99. —Two first offenders were each fined sa, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Phillip Richarde, charged with being arunk in Hereford street, was fined 10s, in default 48 hours , imprisonment. William Clafther, similarly charged, was similarly dealt With. Julia Parkins, charged with being arunk in Victoria street, was also fined 10s.
AxLEOEti Obscexe LAXOtTAGE.—Thomaa Veieh was charged with having, on the 20th April, used obsce;;t> language in Manchester street within the hearing of passers by. Tue accused pleaded not guilty, and applied for a remand to enable him to get several witnesses. He was remanded till Monday. iMPORTCXiJfc.—Amelia Lawson was charged with loitering and importuning passengers in Latimer square on April 20th. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge, and stated that she was leaving Christchurch anexfc Friday. She was fined 20s or 48 hours imprisonment. Aixeoko Wif>: Desebtiox.—Robert Dunn woe charged with having deserted his wife, Jane Dunn. The man stated that he had been away up country working at a threshing machine, and had only earned £6 6a during that time. The case was adjourned for fourteen days,, and £A of the money found on the man was ordered to be> given to his wife.
