Mr J. R. Evans, the local director of the Croesus (Paparoa) Gold Mining Company, received yesterday afternoon the following telegram:—'•Croesus pay 3d dividend Monday next.—Craig." Messrs .Baker Bros., the brokers for New Zealand of the Pactolus xNo. 3 Gold Dredging Company, situate on the Nelson Creek, "West Coast, inform us that the ahaxee wcro largely over-subscribed, many having to be refused and others cut down.
Work is progressing with regard to the machinery for the Hokitika Gold .Dredging Company. Plans and specifications for the dredge are now in the hands of tho contractors.
The .contract for the pontoon site for the Al Keofton Gold Dredging Company is just about completed. The contractors for the dredge, Messrs Anderson and Sons, of Chrietohuroh, are ma&ing satisfactory progress with the work.
