POLICE FORCE EVIDENTLY NEEDS SOj*ui INVESTIQATION. Such is the ibeading of a column in the same journal, as above; it certainly throws j some light on the condition of the police i in a prohibition-governed State. One paragraph is sufficient to. indicate tie oonditdon of affairs:—"Mane uhan one officer on the police force is loud in bis denunciation of Sergeant Donovan and other members because they are democrats. There is haj-dly a man in iihe police force but haa com© oomplaint to make against other members. The stalwart officers of the law are as jealous as a lot of Bohoolboya The force could- be improved in discipline, and the sooner it is dome the better at will be for "tihe city.
