FLORAL FETE.

A meeting of the General Committee of the Floral Fete was held yesterday afternoon at the City Council Chambers. In the absence of his Worship the Mayor, Mr Hart was voted to tbe chap*. Mr Moon moved "That the offer of P, As-x>oiation be accepted, provided sati___ct6jy ;ju~xngement3 can be made with the •Traonway Co-up-ny." Mr Sorenson seconded the motion. Mr darkson moved as an aanendnient "That the offer of the Sports Ground Company of Lancaster Park be accepted." This was seconded by Mr Smib-t pro forma. On a division the amencttnent was lcet, and the original motion agreed to. Miss Cuttan waa added to Several matters of detail were dealt with, and the meeting adjourned. A meeting of the Executive of the Floral Fete was held last night. Reoresent—ives of th. Oddfellows M.U., Foresters and Druids were present by invitation. After considerable discussion it was resolved to ask the delegates of the Friendly Societies to bring the matter before their respective districts, courfc, etc., to report at an adjourned n-eeting. It was resolved that the entries for the Fete should close on December Ist. It was derided to odve__se for tendfti_ for canvassing for advertisements op the programme, the Committee guaranteeing a gratuitous distribution of 8000 copies.
