Captains Vonlet and Chanoine, after killing Colonel Kfobb, sought to establish an independent, state in the French Soudan. Their followers showed their loyalty to France by killing both Voulet and Chanoine. Lieut. Meunier, who was wounded when Colonel Klobb was shot, has recovered.
