The same Club wrote that Messrs Fenton and Rich, in attending the recent inquiry, had lost .six hours overtime at 2s 6d per hour on the Pororua, and railway fare. Is 2d each. The Committee was asked to refund the fare. The Committee decided that under the rules it could not makb -the refund. A charge was laid by tho Merivale dub against Ormandy, a Linwood player, of having in the Lmwocd-Morivale Junior Flag match, deliberately struck'-Mr Finlayson, a touch judge. Mr Simes. the referee in tha gave it as his opinion that jiny striking was accidental.-.as the touch line was crowded, Crniandy" stated that when he was being thrown out of touch by a Merivale player ha hit someone, quite unintentionally, and he afterwards heard that it was a touch judge he had struck. Mr Finlayson stated that Burrell carried the ball cut, and was tackled by Ormandy. He drew attention to the fact that the ball was out, jyid Ormandy got up. and deliberately struck at his face. After hearing the evidence, the Committee adjourned the inquiry for a week for outside evidence, as there appeared to be a conflict of opinion concerning the circumstances. — Butler, Albion Club, was heard in .his defence of an accusation of having through the telephone used insulting language to a member of the Permit Committee, which he flatly denied, after which the subject was deferred pending the return of Mr Garrard. The Lancaster Park Company drew the attention of the Committee to the fact that on a Saturday afternoon, spectators jumped over the picket fence at the grand stand enclosure, to the detriment of the fence. The secretary was instructed to confer with Mr Rest-even as to what was best to be done. It was decided to ask the. Union's delegate to support the proposal, to come before the New Zealand Union, providing for an appeal from a Referees' Association going direct to that Union.
