Tuesday, June 27. . (Before C. A. Wray, Esq., S.M.) Breach of Railway Regulations.—A stockman who waa charged with rafusing to deliver up his railway ticket when called upea, and also with using abusive and threatening language to S. Husman, a guard on the New Zealand railways, was fined 40s and costs on bcih. charge-. Civil Cases.—Temuka Ittud Board v John Ma]larkc-y, claim £4 5s 8d for rates. Judgment for amount claimed and costs. J. S.f Hayes v T. Cowan,- claim £3 S_ 6d. Mp Aspina-ll for plaintiff. Judgment for amount claimed, less £1 15s puid. F. Collier v A. Scott, claim £17 5s for rent and damages for breach cf covenants of. a lease. Mr T. Cheyne Farnic for plaintiff aiid Mr Hay frc defendant. In giving judgment his Worship said ths plaintiff had only substantiated his claim for 14s, the estimated ccsts of repairing and cutting a portion of a fcc>?e. If a verdict was given for him it would carry costs, while tho defendant had r3sJly wen his case. He should give a verdict for defendant, and allow a solicitor's fee v/it'h costs of Court and witnesses, the 14s to be deducted from this. P. and D. Duncan v Jas. Wikon, claim £71 8s 9d. Mr Perry for defendant. The evidence of James William Dyko and M. Wilson was token for transmission to Christehurch.
