SENIOR CUP MATCHES.

Both the Senior Cup matches were concluded on Saturday, when Midland gained an easy victory over Sydenham, whilst the Lancastrians defeated United by six wickets. This leaves the Midlanders a <big lead for the Cup, and even if they lose both their remaining matches they will, tie with one or two teams. The weather was all that cricketers could wish for, but. the- wickets, owing to the heavy rain during the week, were on the slow side. There was a very large attendance, the Tennis Tournament being an extra attraction. LANCASTER PARK v UNITED. The United, second innings, wnich stood at 159 for six wickets, waa continued by Smith and Ollivier. With 20 runs added the latter was caught at third man. Harman, one of the not outs, resumed his innings, but almost at once lost Smith, Who played on after contributing 33 by nice batting. Harman was soon after oowled for 2 runs less, also got by attractive play. Williams after getting a couple of 4's was stumped, and tlie innings closed for 196. Pavitt was the most successful Dowler, and the fielding was very good. -, Esquiring 81 to win, the Lancastrians made a.bad start, three of the first four men failing to score. Wilding, however, knocked ud 19 by bold bitting before lie was well caught in the deep field. North and Raphael then got together, and, despite frequent changes in the bowling, knocked the runs off without further loss. Raphael played sound but aggressive cricket, and .North also batted well.
