» —. The general commi'teo arranging for tho cycle trade picnic met at Carl's Empire Hotel on Friday. -The. sub-committee's report as to donations was unexceptionaliy good. The secretary reported that the train and steamer arrangements were well, inhand. Tickets are to be printed at once. The Programme Committee Avill submit a report at next meeting. Several good suggestions Avere noted to enhance tho pleasure of the outing, which promisee to excel that of last year. . As Avill be seen by a preliminary notification, Mr and Mrs Paul Perrier Avill give a novel entet tainment in the Opera House on Thursday eA-ening next. The programme _ includesababyshow foraprizeof a gold watch, a comic and character singing contest {ot gentlemen amateurs, the prizes for' which will be a framed certificate, a silver cup and two guineas. All the entries will ba free of charge. ' The distribution of prizes in connection with the School of Art will take place in the Canterbury College hall to-morrow evening, at eight o'clock.
