BRITISH INTERESTS IN CHINA. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 9. Mr Brodrick, in opposing Mr Bartley's amendment in the Houss of Commons urging the Government to guararrtee the territorial independence d China, stated that British investors had soured concessions for 2800 miles of railway, costing twenty millions. Great Britain had obtained the power to advance the Burmah railway 700 miles in Yunan. It was better to come to terms with competitors than to exhibit antagonism. The amendment was withdrawn.
