CONGREGATIONAL UNION.
<O> (FItESS ASSOCIATION' TJELECKJ&I.) DUNEDIN, February 8. The Council of the Congregational Union m&ti to-day. The treasurer, in submitting his annual statement, said that several districts had responded nobly to the appeal made to them, and there was much cause to look with cheerful gratitude upon the receipts for tlie year. The ministers and delegates were entertained at a luncheon by the ladies of the St. Clair congregation. Dr. Bevan and Mr J. F. M. i'raser. Crown Prosecutor, were among the speakers. At the afternoon sitting the Rev. Sarginson read a paper on the restoration of the mission in preaching, and Dr. Bevan, one on the tendency of modern "llieological Thought."
