• Mr James Henderson has received cable advice confirming news of the discovery of hi<rh grade ore in the No. 5 tunnel of the Mount Lyell mine. A hand essay gives the following results:—Copper, 11 per cent.; silver, 60oz per ton; gold, ldwt per tan. Shares have risen to £9 2s 6d. A telegram received by Mr William A. Moss, from Mr Afred Millor, Melbourne, states:—Mount Lyell Mining Railway Company—"Promising development No. 5 tunnel, south drive. Hand sample, Hi per cent, copper; 60az silver, ldwt gold per tea; bulk boring over whole face of drive. 15£ per cent copper, 350z silver, 3dwt gold per ton. Looks very favourable."
