+ The fortnightly meeting was held on Tuesday. Present—The Mayor (Mr Feldwick), Crs. Hopkins. Daly, Edmonds.' Doubleday, Bugg, Hayman, and Pearce. Tho question of covering a drain near thp' Mandeville Hotel was referred to the Works Committee. The Finance Committee reported that, the receipts were £5 19s 4d. The debit balance was £404 2s lid. Accounts (including for charitable aid iot the quarter £12 6s, and hospital £10 12s 2d) H amounting to £54 3s 5d were passed. It V was decided that all the Councillors should V inspect a drain in Akaroa street. The Mayor ■ reported the Hon. Minister of Lands had 1 promised to attend to the replanking of the . - 1 bridge.
