OLD AGE PENSIONS.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —In your report of the Pensions Court at Rangiora, held recently, a man was stated to have paid £270 down on account of a property and £10 on account of sheep: his accumulated property would therefoie appear to bi £280; deducting £50 allowed under the Act would leave £'_30. As the deduction is £1 for every cu_ipiete £15 worth of property, x this would mean that as £15 is contained 15 times in £230, his pension would be £18 less £15, or £3. Yet your report says the —Magistrate was induced to grant the full pension of £18. Can your correspondent explain what is not at all clear to many besides, —Yours, &c., PUZZLED.
