The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,690,000 quarters, and for the Continent 2,950,000 quarters. The American visible wheat supply is 27,479,000 bushels. Tallow — Mutton, fine, 24s 6d ; medium, 22s 9d ; beef, fine, 22s 9d; medium, 21s 3d.

Bbisbane, June 9. Details have been received of a scheme for the distribution of perishable goods in Great Britain. It is proposed to form a company with a capital of £150,000 to establish a central depot on the Thames and twentyfive smaller depots in the principal provincial towns. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following London cable message, dated Bth June :— " Cocksfoot—Market easier. "Tallow — Medium and inferior mutton tallow is in demand, but fine is neglected. Tallow has declined 8d per cwt. since last report. " Wheat—The tone of the market is flat. New Zealand wheat, f.a.q., is worth c.i.f. to arrive 87s per 4801bs. Quotations are nominal. (Last quotation was 415.) "Frozen Meat — Lamb market steady. Canterbury lamb is worth 4£d per lb." * Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, have received the following cable message from f V?r London office, under date Bth iasi. :— " Since our last telegram the price of tallow in general is lower by 3d per cwt." Messrs Nelson Bros., Limited, Tomoana, received the following cable from the Colonial Consignment and Distributing Co., London, to-day :—" The frozen meat market is quiet, bnt steady. Prime sheep are very scarce. . To-day's quotations are — Beat Canterbury mutton 3gd per lb, beet Dunedin and Southland 3d "per n>, best Napier and North Island 2Jd per lb. Lamb—First quality 4£d per lb, second quality 4£d per lb.
