The Marine Board found the crew of the Merksworth justified in abandoning the vessel, believing that she was sinking. THE MAITLAND DISASTER. The inquest on the Maitland victims has concluded. The jury exonerated the captain and officers from all blame, and found that they did all in their power to avert the disaster. It gave great credit to Captain Kinner for his courage and skill in saving lives.
