He is hardly able to speak owing to heart trouble arising from an attack of influenza. A RESULT OF THE STRIKES. Owing to the strikes several large English engineering firms are transferring their factories to Belgium. THE SOUDAN. Mr Cecil Rhodes stated at an interview that he expects Sir H. Kitchener's Soudan forces to enter Khartoum in October next. Within five years of that time the African continental telegraph system will have been completed. PRINCE BISMARCK. Berlin, May 20. The health of Prince Bismarck is giving occasion for renewed anxiety. THE MILAN RIOTS. Rome, May 20. The Italian Government proposes to revoke Cardinal Ferrari's exequatur, for complicity in the Milan riots. Received May 22nd, 6 p.m. THE P. AND 0. COMPANY. London, May 21. The P. andO. Company has declared a dividend of 5 per cent, on preferred and 7 per cent, on deferred shares.
