The report of the Board of Enquiry into the recent fire throws no fresh light on its origin. It recommends the strengthening of the Brigade and equipment, and the increase of the water supply. A DISASTROUS FIRE. Perth, March 22. A fire at Menzies destroyed a block of buildings, and the damage is estimated at £8000. A man is supposed to have perished in the flames. Received March 22nd, 12."5 a.m. LORD AND LADY BRASSEY. Melbourne, March 22. The Governor, Lord Brassey, and his wife have left on a visit to England. A DIGGINGS RUSHED. Perth, March 22. The leases at Cue have been rushed by alluvial digged, and over 20Q are now on the field. Receired March 220 d, 10.35 p.m. MR DURWARD LELY. Sydney, March 22. Mr Durward Lely, the Scotch vocalist, tenor of the Carl Rosa Company, and Mr R. S. Smythe's latest importation, leaves San Fcancisco tomorrow. Instead of coming on to Australia as originally intended, he will open his colonial engagements at Dunedin in April.
