FOOTBALL.
The annual meeting of the Southbridge Football Club was held in the Library on Saturday evening, Mr E. Cowan in the chair. The balance-sheet for the pant year, showing receipts amounting to £21145, and expenditure £20 16s 9d, the credit balance being thus 17s 3d, was adopted. Officers were elected as follows : —Patron, Mr W. H. Montgomery, M.H.R. (re-elected); president, Mr J. McMillan (re-elected); vicepresidents, Messrs C. H. Willis, J. Cowan, E. Cowan, Rev. F. J. Cocks aud Dr. T. J. Withers; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Campbell (re-elected); delegate to the Rugby Union, Mr T. E. Boyce; delegate to the Ellancere Association, Mr E. Cowan ; captain to be elected at ihe first practice match; managing committee, Messrs J. Curran, £. Short, D. Gilmour, R. Burns, M'Comb, W. M'Evedy, W. R. Smith, G. Busch, D. M'llwratth, B. Winthrop and J. M'Hwraith. The opening day was fixed for 16th April. Fourteen new members were proposed. The subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. The captain, rice-captain, secretary and Mr E. Cowan were elected, the selection committee. It was decided to write the school committee for the use of the ground, also to the cricket club for use of matting for the concrete pitch.
