CHRISTCHURCH HOCKEY CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Christchurch Hockey Club was held last evening ; Mr Kinley in the chair. The report showed that the financial affairs of the Club were a very satisfactory condition. The membership roll at the beginning of the season included between forty aud fifty playing members. A competition was arranged by delegates from the various olubs, and was taken part in by three teams from this Club and one team each from the Kaiapoi and V.M.C.A. Clubs. The competition was eventually won by the Christchurch No. 1 team. It> would be the imperative duty of the incoming Committee to endeavour to obtain the appointment of an appeal Committee composed of delegates from the various clubs, whose duty it will be to assist the referees and decide all questions which may be submitted to them.

The balance-sheet showed receipts £15 12s lid and expenditure £12 14s 6d, leaving a credit balance of £2 18s sd. The report and balance-sheet were adopted.

The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Mr Chas. Lewis (M.H.R.); Vice-Presidents, Messrs D. B. Lowe and Bristed ; Captain, Mr Withers ; Deputy-Captain, Mr Ridley; Secretary, Mr Pavitt; Treasurer, Mr Hellier; Committee, Messrs Black, W. E. Lawrence, J. S. Winstone, L. Manson, D. Kinvig and R. Vincent; Selection Committee, Messrs J. D. Lawrence, P. G. Withers and A. Kinvig. Two new members were elected and a vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
