LONDON, November 11. The Standard states that the chief credit of the success of Stoddart's team against Victoria, is due to Mason, and adds that the English team generally have scarcely pulled themselves together yet. SYDNEY, November 11.

Stoddart's team of EnJish cricketers arrived in town to-day, and were welcomed at a luncheon in the Town Hall by the Mayor. They begin a match against New South Wales to-morrow.

A team representing Invell Cricket Club played Lincoln College last Saturday at the College. Scores :—College, 80 (Manson 30, Black 14 not out) and 47 (Pookley 25) ; Irwell, 42 (Eaglesome 19, J. Hislop 12) and 57 for five wickets (Kirk 18, Williams 16). For the winners PaleUiorpe obtained in the fust innings six wickets for 15 runs, the first four at the cost of only 2 runs. A match was played on Tuesday between a team from the Sydenham Club and fcjpringston on the ground of the latter, resulting in a win for Springston by 56 runs on the first innings. Scores : Springston, 76 (J. Keast 18, P. Keast 17, R. Malcolm 16) and 140 (E. Keast 38 retired, H. Neale 31, T. Lowe 23, J. Keast 19); Sydenham, 20 and 35 for no Wickets (Ayrey 22 not out, and Gasson 8 not out). For Sydenham Lovo and Mapplebeck bowled best, and for Springston A. Macdonald and E. Keasit proved very destructive, the former taking five wickets for 8 and the latter five for 9.
