COLONEL PITT.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TEIECRAM.) NELSON, September 19. The Nelson Volunteers entertained Colonel Pitt oa Saturday night, nearly all the officers and men in the district being present. The toast of the evening was given by Major lTranklyn, and received with great enthusiasm. Colonel Pitfc responded at length, giving some interesting particulars concerning the New Zealand contingent in, England, speaking of the handsome treatment accorded them, and giving his iropressione of the English Volunteers, and what is needed in the colony to ensure greater efficiency in our Volunteers. The gathering was highly successful.
