The monthly meeting was held on September 13th. Present—Messrs W. "I. Atkinson (Chairman), W. F. Conway, R. Thompson, R. Kingsbury and T. Tallott. Correspondence was received — From Messrs Stringer and Cresswell, solicitors to Mr R. Blunclen, in reference to the main drain which runs through Mr Blunden'a property. The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt of the letter. Mr J. Gartery interviewed the Board in reference to the Cemetery Reserve held by him from the Board, and agreed to cut the gorse fences fronting on the reserve. Mr C Fairweather interviewed asking to have a piece of road abont thirty-four chains formed half-a-chain wide leading to his property. The Clerk to inspect and report at next meeting. It was agreed to close part of Thompson's Hill road from the corner of Thompson's road to the Cost river, to supply Mr E. Allison with a gate for gravel reserve 1379, and to accept the offer of Mr G. Why to to rent the Board's house, land and stable at the rate of £13 per annum, three months' notice to terminate the agreement. The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr W. G. Brittan in reference to the land required for a drain on the main road. Permission was given to Mr J. Carter to take some strippings from the gravel pit to fill in his stable. The Clerk was instructed to ask the Clerk to the Mandeville Board to meet him on the boundary to examine the bridges, to have hand rails put around the bridge on Speir's road, to call tenders for carting broken metal on the main road and shingle on Early's and Speir's roads. Mr W. Wells's tender was accepted for repairing the skew bridge. Accounts £42 2s 2d were passed.
