VOLCANIC ASHES.
Captain Edwin has received a telegram from Adelaide stating that a fall of ashes has been recorded in Western Australia. As this is probably the result of the volcanic e ruption in the Philippine Islands, the oirc umstance is worthy of some notice, owing to the distance the ashes must have been earned, which would probably be from 2000 to 2700 miles.
