RISE IN THE PRICE OP BREAD.

Lokdon, August 24. Silver is quoted at Is ll|d per oz. August 25. The total arrivals of wool to date amount to 124,000 bales. The quantity forwarded to the manufacturing districts is 34,000. The amount expected to be available for the ensuing sales is 180,000 bales.
The price of flour hag been raised half-a-crown a sack in the country markets of Great Britain, and the price of the quartern loaf is now 6d.
Great excitement still prevails in the American markets, but prices are a shade lower.
Pakis, August 24. The price of bread iv Paris has risen Id per lb.
Great excitement prevails throughout France at the scarcity of grain.
August 25
Committees have been formed in Paris and other centres to prevent a farther rise in wheat.
The Socialists are agitating for a reduction of the duties on wheat.
