ELLESMERE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
A Committee meeting of the Ellesmere A. and P. Association took place on Monday. There was a large attendance, and Mr J. M. Furze, President, occupied the chair. Dr. Withers wrote, re the motion carried at last meeting to apply for a publican's Keenae on the Show Grounds, requesting that a general meeting of members be called at an early date to consider this question. The letter was received. A deputation consisting of Messrs W. G«bbie and W. Nixon waited on the Committee, protesting against the motion passed at last meeting to erect a judging ring for cattle in the centre of the cattle yards. The deputation pointed out that this innovation would prejudice tbe show of cattle, both with exhibitors and the public. Alter some discussion, Mr Nixon offered to erect a judging ring for cattle out in the grounds at his own expense. On the motion of Mr Rkkkus, the motion passed at last meeting was rescinded, and Mr Nixon's offer accepted with thanks. A number of letters were read offering donations to the special prize list. They were considered highly satisfactory and accepted with thanks. A Sub-Committee, consisting of Messrs Stephens, Boag, Furze, Stackhoose, Lunn Renme and Phillips, was appointed, to meet on September 13th and allocate the special £?_{__-♦ i™* l^* 1 P rize ?
