Mutton — New Zealand crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, Canterbury Dunedin and Southland 3Jd, North Island 3|d. The above quotations are for average quality and for lines of not less than 100 carcases.
Lamb-—Prime Canterbury, 82lb to 421b, 3 7-16 d; fair average, including Dunedin, Southland, Wellington and secondary Canterbury, per 321b to 421b, 3sd. The. quotations for lamb do not include the sales of small lambs, or heavies, or inferior qualities. River Plate sheep, crossbreds or merino wethers, heavy 2'7-16d, light 2£d. >
New York, August 28. The excitement in the American wheat market continues. The Nebraskan crop is expected to yield in value sixteen and a half million dollars above what was obtained in 1896. . .
