WELLINGTON, August 23. The Wellington Rugby Union play Southland on the Bth September, Otago on the llth, Canterbury on the 18th, and possibly South Canterbury on the 15th. The 18th of September has been fixed by the Council of the New Zealand Football Association as the date for the final match of the annual tournament for the challenge trophy.
The annual match between the Post and Telegraph and Railway football teams will take place at Lancaster Park next Thursday. As both teams are in active preparation and contain some of Canterbury's foremost players, the match should be productive of some good football. The following is the Post and Telegraph team : — McDonald, Anderson, Watts, Gerard, Rogers, Gray, Brooker, Chambers (2), Seelen, Johnston, King, Webster, Gourlay and Brooks.
