ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
The death occurred suddenly on Saturday of an elderly man named William Wright, who lived with his family in Wilson street, Christchurch. Between 7 and 8 a.in. he left home to attecd to a garden on the East belt. He wa9 seen to pass the Eastern Hotel, and a little later a man went into tho hotel and reported that a man, who turned out to be Mr Wright, was apparently in a fit in one of the out houßes. Dr. Ovenden was at once sent for, and when he arrived he pronounced Wright to be dead. An inquest took place at the Eastern Hotel at 5 p.m. on Saturday before Mr Beetbam, Coroner, and a jury, who returned a verdict of death from fatty degeneration of the heart. Deceased was fifty-one years of age. He leaves a widow and large family. An old man named Williams, residing in Gloucester street west, died suddenly last evening about 6.30, He had been in failing health for some time past, and was an outpatient of the Hospital.
