LORD ROBERTS'S VIEWS.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright London, August 20. Lord Roberts, in the course of an interview, stated that no Afghans would join in attacks upon the British forces on the Afghan frontier, unless they thought suck action would please the Ameer. He added there was no cause for anxiety.

The Cologne Gazette rebukes oertain German newspapers for inciting Russia to take advantage of Great Britain's difficulties in India. The Gazette admits that German commerce attained its present greatness chiefly through following in the wake of the English.
Constantinople, August 21.
The Sabas and the M.'tlirrnnt, two Constantinople newspapers, have been prohibited entrance into India owing to their incendiary character.
