CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION.
A special meeting of the Committee of the Cail|pi-bury Rugby Union was held at the Clarendon Hotel, at one o'clock on Saturday Afternoon. Present—Meesrs G. H. Mason (in the chair), T. C. Adams, .J. U. Collins, F. T. Evans, H. Frost, Captain Meikleham, £. E. Asquith. An apology was read from Mr A. E. G. Rhodes. A telegram wae read from Mr W. G. Gan-tti-d, who is at present in Wellington, as follows: —" Try arrauge play Otago August 28th, Southland Ist September, South Canterbury 4th. Wellington can only play us 18th September." After considerable discussion it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of Messrs Frost and Asquith to get all the information they could, and report to the Committee meeting on Tuesday next.
