Mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations :—
THURSDAY, MAY 27.
For Northern Ports and Weetport, also Australian Colonies, Ceylon, India, China, &c, United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, for correspondence specially addressed via Suez, due London July 14th, Fiji, Hawiiau Islands, British Columbia, Canada, and for specially addressed correspondence for United State 9 (per Warrimoo leaving Sydney on 10th June) (to connect with Tasmania at Auckland), per Te Anau, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. For Port Robinson, Cheviot and Kaikoura, per Wakatu, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. For Westport, per Janet Nicoll, at sp.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train.
' WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2. For Chatham Islands, per Kahu, at 8 a.m.; guard's van, 8.55 a.m. train.
Mails for Tonsja, Samoa and Fiji, per Oval&u, close at Auckland on 2nd June, at 4 p.m. Mails for Puysegur Point, Cromarty and Tuanaroa. close at Invercargill on 3rd June, at noon.
Notk—A Post Office has been opened at AUandale (Charteris Bay).
