SOCIAL.
A social and dance in aid of the Hawked Bay Relief Fund was held at the Opera House last evening. There was a good attendance upstairs, though the floor o! the dance room was not crowded.' Songs were given by Misses L, Thompson, May Brockets, M. E. Bush, Neavo, Samuels, Watson and Messrs Meluhor Winder, A» F. Young, Chas. Read and C. Ediijar. Mjrj Edgar and Miss M. E. Bash played the accompaniments. Dancing was interspersed with tiie songs, and after the completion of the latter dancing was kept up till an early hour, Mr Brocketfc'q Quadrille Band supplying the music. Mr L. J. Smith provided an excellent supper.
