ATHLETIC SPORTS.
The aporta for the purpose of raising money for the Hawke's Bay Relief Fund took place at Lancaster fark yesterday. There was a poor attendance in the morning, but by tho afternoon between two and three thousand spectators wero present. The following aro the results : 120 Yard? Fiat Handicap—H. Time, linin Bsec. One Mile Bicycle Handicap—Benjamin, 180 yds, 1; G. Billcliffe, 100 yds, 2. - Time, 2min 19sec. Won by a length. Three others started. Half-Mile Bicycle Handicap (undei N.Z.L.W. rules)—W. Preeoe, 80yds, 1; G. Sutherland, 76yds, 2. Six othera started. Time, Imin7i*3ec. Half-Mile Flat Handicap—W. F. Simpson, aor, 1; H. G. Martin, 10yds. 2. 'rime, Siiiin lt§sec. There was one other starter. Two Mile Multioyole Himdioap (under N.Z.C.A. rules) —Triplet ridden by Thompson, Jones, and Alexander, aer, f, quadruplet ridden by Archer, Amos, Benjamin, and Burmeister, sor, •)-, dead heat. A tandem ridden by Best ami BiHcliffe also started. This waa a close aud exciting race. Time, 4min 37gaec. Tho first two teams rode off for first place, with tho result that tho triplet won.
