We are indebted to Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., Returning Officer, for the information that the votes polled, so far as the returns reached him on Saturday after the polling, were — Parata 254, R. M. Taiaroa 125,' Brihana 111, Mutu 92. There were one or two small returns to come' whioh would not affect the result. At several of the pahs, the Natives indulged in squibs and cartoons, the latter principally depicting the candidates on race horses, and there- was a > good deal of anxiety for the result at Kafopoi, where it was made known at our agency about 8 p.m. (PRKSS ; ASSOCIATION TBLBGKAMtf.) RUSSELL, December 20. The result of the-local poll for the Northern Maori district waa Hone Heke 75, Eprama Kapa 1. ... PISBORNE, December 20.
