BOWLING.
The return match between the Christ* church and Canterbury Clubs took place under pleasant conditions on Saturday afternoon, on the green of the former Club. The weather was nice, the green in good order, and the play keen and interesting alike to the competitors and the visitors who dropped in during the afternoon. On the seventh head Christchurch were 41 points to Canterbury's 23 points; at the fourteenth head they were still leading by the 18 points, the scores being Christchurch 77, Canterbury 59, but when [the twentyfirst head was reached the 18 points had been increased to 30; Christchurch 122, Canterbury 92. No. 3 rink was the first to finish, Canterbury having an advantage of 13 points ; No. 4 followed with a tie which did .not alter matters. At No. 1 Christchurch secured a win by the margin of 17 points, which gave them a lead of 4 points. The same Club was more successful at No. 5 where the win was by 19 points, which gave them a lead of 23 points, added to which was the difference of 7 points at No. 2, which gave the home Club the 30 points win.
