VITAL STATISTICS.
(press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, December 17. The following are the vital statistics for the colony for the month of November:—
The total number of births in the abovenamed boroughs amounted to 320, against 372 in October, a decrease of 52. The deaths in November were 116, a decrease of 62 on the number in October. Of the total deaths males contributed 62, females 64. Twenty-eight of the deaths were of children under 5 years of age, being 24.14 per cent, of the whole number ; 22 of these were under 1 year of age. There were 22 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards. Two men, 65,71, and 4 women, 66, 67, 68, 83 died at Auckland; 2 men, 85, at Wellington ; 3 men, 66, 73, 74, and 3 women, 70, 74, 80 at Christchurch ; and 3 men, 70, 72 (2), and 5 women, 68, 70, 79, 80, 99, at Dunedin.
